March 2023 David Ferraby, a partner in Stroud`s firm, took over the transfer related to the sale of my late father`s home when the lawyer I originally hired in their Tewkesbury office left the firm during the trial. It was a very stressful time for me, greatly exacerbated by Mr. Ferraby`s apparent unwillingness to take the matter to the exchange of contracts and its conclusion. Between mid-November and the second week of January, Mr. Ferraby did not respond to 9 emails and a phone call from me in which I simply asked for an update – except on one occasion to promise to reply to me the next day – which he did not do. It was a cash sale by an investor and therefore a very simple transaction. More than three months after first contacting Mr.
Ferraby to Tewkesbury to Tewkesbury, I am still waiting for the contract exchange and I ignore ALL my attempts to understand what caused the delay is, in my opinion, terribly unprofessional. I have made it clear from the beginning that I am able to pressure buyers to push for replacement and completion when I am informed of problems. Mr. Ferraby`s position seems simple: he should not be expected to be proactive, but should simply sit down and wait for the buyer`s lawyers to do the whole thing. In my opinion, the fact that Mr. Ferraby was not proactive on this file cost me a lot of money. I strongly advise against giving instructions to Mr. Ferraby for a promotion.
I will file a formal complaint with the Legal Ombudsman and the SRA. “Lyn is excellent. It is professional, efficient and reliable. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others. They didn`t try to understand the mission. Obviously, they do not want to act lightly. I found them disproportionately expensive, so suggest you get several deals before choosing them.
